Jacqueline Sharp

My name is Jacqueline and I have been training for 15 years, and for the public about 8 years. I am originally from Arizona where my family has been for 5 generations, and still is! The last 3 generations are horse trainers and that's how I grew up and began learning how to train. Training started with horses and  then cows when I was in 4-H/FFA. I went back to horses after I graduated high school and then decided I wanted to work with animals not so big. I still have a horse from my family's line and enjoy my spare time with her. I worked in restaurants for 10 years and competed in dog sports. I completed 2 internships and worked with other trainers before moving to Texas and working in a facility. I have seen all methods/styles of training and hundreds of dogs of all breeds. I tested and received my certification in 2022, I have trained 2 of my own interns and love educating owners and seeing the light comes on as they train their dogs! I enjoy reading, movies, vocals, my horse and visiting with seniors when I'm not with dogs.

My name Tammy Swanson, and I am delighted to share a bit about me, my background and training experience with you. i grew up in Orange County, California, I developed a deep passion for animals, dogs. My journey began with training my two dogs, which fueled my love for canines. After completing college, I managed a private security company and later adopted Kona from a Los Angeles shelter. Transitioning into the medical field allowed me to enhance skills through various collaborative roles. Following a personal commitment to care for my mother during her illness, I began volunteering with rescue organizations, fostering for Icare and ultimately adopting my dog, Captain, a Boxer, while also volunteering with OC Pitbull Rescue. This experience solidified my decision to pursue dog training as a profession, leading me to enroll at Starmark Academy in Hutto, Texas. Upon graduation, I returned to California to work as a trainer where I provided day training, board-and-train programs, in-home lessons, and group classes. After a year I sought new challenges and successfully joined a board-and-train facility in Texas, training dogs of various temperaments, including those exhibiting aggression or fearful behavior. As the company expanded, I took on responsibility of training new trainers. I am now excited to join Wag Point K9 as a trainer, where I look forward to helping dogs and their owners achieve harmony in their homes and lives. Over the years, I have developed a specialty in working with fearful dogs, assisting them in leading fulfilling and enjoyable lives. I am looking forward to working with you and your dog!
